This is cold weather whiskey ! Made from organic stone ground dark rye flour with added chocolate rye malt, a heavily roasted grain that imparts espresso and cacao. It is aged three years in new charred American oak barrels. The nose begins with outdoors in a meadow after the hay is brought in, with notes of white pepper and a sweet touch of crème brûlée. Then the espresso comes out, with a surprising hit of Jalapeño pepper, and it finishes with old-fasioned black pepper. This is rye, dark, dark rye.
